PG Department of Hindustani Music

About the Department:

• Post Graduate course in Hindustani Music was established in our institution in the year 2018-19.
• The PG programme was introduced to help students learn the dynamic, meaningful and lively form of art.
• In take capacity allowed by the university is 10 students.
• Three batches have passed out.
• All the years the passing percentage is cent present.
• Students have bagged university ranks and gold medals.
• The department is well equipped with various musical instruments, projector and other facilities.
• Activities such as guest, lectures, project work, stage performances, watching CD’s of great artists, field visits enable students to get deeper insights in music.

• Soujanya Kulkarni participated in Youth culture exchange programme held in China 2018-19.
• Geeta Bhat and Sampada Joshi received scholarship sponsored by Karnataka Sangeeta Nruthya Academy 2019-20.
• Savita Hadapad got Rs.10,000/- Scholar ship sponsored by Karnataka Sangeeta Nruthya Academy 2020-21.
• Geeta Bhat won first prize in classical solo competition.
• Students performed in kannada Sahitya Samedana Dharwad district and in all India Kannada Sahitya Sammellan.
• Students won first prize in group song at State Level youth fest held KSGH, University, Mysore.

• Dr. Jyothilakshmi D. P. won  Srinidhi Kala Sourabha award given by Govt., of Karnataka, Sangeeta Nruthya Academy, Bangalore in 2020.
• Dr. Jyothilakshmi D. P. is a performing artist & B-grade artist in light music AIR, Dharwad.
• Dr. Shivaleela Vaijinath is a performing artist & B-grade artist in Classical Music AIR, Bangalore.
